ISTE Conference Day 1

Leadership Symposium

It was interesting that on each table a student from Smoky Hill High School is seated. This enriched the conversations, having a different perspective of issues discussed.

-Questioning - Develop a culture of questioning

-Reverse Mentors-Listen and learn (one who is able to give a fresh perspective
-Diversity
-Yes and... e.g. We should allow students to access the Internet for their graduation exam.
-Space Design - Physical and virtual space for learning

Why do we need physical space when everything is going digital?
-Even our new classrooms reflect a design that is rooted in the same boxes
-not everything should go digital, we are social animals who need to come together to learn, to pass on knowledge and values
-this should be done both in physical and virtual space
