Academy Symposium - Cognitively Guided Instructions (CGI)

Teachers play an important role:
  • have thorough understanding of the syllabus
  • know the distinction of the different problem types in the syllabuse.g. join, separate, part-part-whole and compare
  • know the progression of problem-solving e.g. direct modelling, counting and derived facts
